ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT
Open Educational Resources (OER) are documents, materials, and educational content freely and openly available in teaching, learning, or research contexts. The effectiveness of their use largely depends on whether the information provided is accessible to all users. This research focuses on the accessibility of OER aimed at English language learning as a foreign language in the Primary and Secondary Education stages. Its goal is to assess the accessibility of available OER, identify best practices, and provide recommendations to ensure accessibility in the development of OER.

To this end, a systematic review was conducted on a sample of 113 OER obtained from the Procom煤n (https://procomun.intef.es/) and CeDeC (https://cedec.intef.es/) repositories. Manual evaluation tools were used based on the accessibility guidelines outlined in the LenguAccesibles Project by UNED. The results reveal various accessibility issues in the OER analyzed, which limit their usability for specific users. It also highlights the need to improve the accessibility of OER in teaching English as a foreign language, ensuring they comply with existing regulations and are accessible to all users.
